LUCKNOW METRO TRAINS TO RUN IN ATO (AUTOMATIC TRAIN OPERATION) MODE BETWEEN TRANSPORT NAGAR AND CHARBAGH METRO STATIONS
- January 21, 2019
Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) from today onwards will run its Metro trains in ATO (Automatic Train Operation) mode from Transport Nagar to Charbagh Metro station of the priority section of North-South corridor(phase 1-A). Earlier the Metro trains were being run in ATP (Automatic Train Protection) mode in which automatic braking is ensured to prevent any kind of collision for the safety of Metro commuters/passengers.
The ATO (Automatic Train Operation) mode has now been implemented which had earlier been thoroughly tested. In this particular mode, the trains shall operate without any intervention by the train operator under the supervision and control of ATP (Automatic Train Protection) functions. This mode ensures that opening of the doors of train is automated while closing of the doors is done manually by the Train Operators (TOs). This is the most advanced system of automation provided in the Metro trains along with the latest state-of-the-art Communication Based Train Control System (CBTC) Signaling system. Moreover Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) system has also been provided to ensure automatic management of train movement by Automatic Route Setting and Automatic Train Regulation by supervising the train movement continuously and optimizing the train movements in case of abnormalities.
Earlier this month, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) had successfully commenced the Signaling Integrated testing trials by moving the Metro train in the balance section upto Munshipulia on one end and from Transport Nagar to Chaudhary Charan Singh Metro station at other end for smooth operation of the trains having interface with signaling, telecommunication, track and traction.
With this Lucknow Metro is now all set for the commissioning of the whole North-South corridor (phase 1-A) from CCS Airport to Munshipulia soon.
