LUCKNOW METRO CELEBRATES 150TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF MAHATMA GANDHI

On the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Lucknow Metro organized several programs in the beloved the memory of ‘Bapu’ who always focused on cleanliness, kindliness, and truthiness. The program was overwhelmed by the auspicious presence of Shri. Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, Lucknow Metro. The program was began with the melodious prayer and songs like "Aaj ka din bahut hai khass'', “Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye” sung by the team members of Artist Association at Charbagh Metro Station, who further took train ride by performing several songs in the memory of Mahatma and also shared his views in the form of jingle with musical instruments at Hazaratganj Metro Station. For the first time, any such activity was conducted on the train with commuters, who were charmed with the performance given by these artists and felt connected with event-based on Gandhiji's 150th Birth Anniversary.

Ahead, Lucknow Metro in collaboration with Jaipuria Institute of Management started a signature campaign at their 21 stations, whose main objective was to make people aware of cleanliness. After this, schoolchildren walked the ramp in fancy dress at Hazratganj metro station. Recalling Gandhiji's message, they said that the time has come when we have to protect the environment from contamination for the coming generation and we will also have to continue to store energy. After this, all the children traveled from Hazratganj to Sachivalaya Metro Station and saw an important photo exhibition at Secretariat Metro Station based on the life journey of Mahatma Gandhi.

Shri. Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, also unveiled the water ATM at Lekhraj Metro Station at the end of today's program, which is not only for commuters but also for the common people who are passing by that area. Addressing the metro staff on Gandhiji's 150th birth anniversary, the Managing Director said that "Our Lucknow Metro is marching on Bapu's ideals; his words are relevant even today. Lucknow Metro is also providing a clean and clear environment to their commuters, in which Lucknowites are also giving their full cooperation. Adding his words, he said, “Today in the Metro, we have organized an exhibition on Gandhi Ji's 150th birth anniversary, whose main objective is that people should follow the path of Mahatma to build a healthy and beautiful society.”
