Shri SatishKumar Pandey,Commissioner Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) today gave his certification to Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) for commencing the revenue/commercial operations of its Metro services for public ridership.

The Commissioner Metro Rail Safety gave his approval to LMRC after inspecting the trial run of Metro train at the maximum operating speed of 80 kmph. The inspection was carried out today by him along with senior LMRC officials by running the train from the Transport Nagar Metro station to Charbagh Metro station to and fro.The trial run was completed successfully.

On the occasion, Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director said "Getting all the required technical clearances from the Ministry of Railway and finally certification fromthe Commissioner Metro Rail Safety today to commence revenue operations on the Priority Corridor of the Lucknow Metro Project from Transport Nagar to Charbagh has been a great achievement for all of us”.

“It has been possible only because of extreme devotion and continued hard work by the whole team of LMRC and good wishes and support of the people of Lucknow. Now, doors are ready to be opened to commence public operation of the world class Metro service in Lucknow at any convenient date, he added”.

Earlier, the Commissioner Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) inspected the Metro project on 27th, July,28th July, 31st July and 1st August 2017 and had desired to witness some additionalload tests of special spans and the high speed run of Rolling Stock at the maximum speed of 80 kmph.These tests were done by LMRC as per the mandatory requirements of the Commissioner Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).
