  • July 17, 2019

The first art exhibition ‘Moving Expressions’ at Hazratganj Metro Station was inaugurated today by LMRC MD, Shri Kumar Keshav amidst great enthusiasm and praise. The much anticipated exhibition which has on display the finest of artworks ranging from sculptures to paintings would continue for the next 9 days i.e. July 25, 2019.

After the inauguration, Shri Keshav took a tour of the exhibition and interacted with the artists to get an insight of what their artwork depicts and what acted as their inspiration for the pieces on display. Shri Keshav, who has always been an avid supporter of art, was so inspired by a sketching artist that he expressed his desire of having such artists at the metro stations to present their talent. He said, “I am speechless looking at these wonderful pieces of art today at this exhibition and today I have realized that there is so much of talent in our young artists but they are not getting their due share of recognition. I have decided to provide that platform for recognition to them, I welcome young artists to come at our Metro station and display their art work, do live sketching here at the metro stations and generate market for their talent”.

The highlight of the exhibition was a marvellous model of Lucknow Metro made from scratch depicting the Metro train emerging from a congested, jam-packed chaos. As a token of gratitude, the artists presented Shri Kumar Keshav with a breath-taking sculpture of the Managing Director himself.

The exhibition received overwhelming response from the visitors who purchased a number of art pieces on the very first day. The exhibition has art works made by Shivam Sinha , Geepti Katiyar , Samreen Fatima, Manu Verma, Shubhangi Sharma , Kumari Jyotisana, Srishti Rastogi, Vishal Gupta , Shoaib Ahmad and Pratap Kumar Maurya. The artists thanked Lucknow metro for providing them with such a grand platform for their art exhibition and expressed joy over getting recognition from the visitors for their work.
